The quote form asks only for what an introduction needs. Until collection is switched on, a submission is not stored. If you email the operator, your email contains the information you choose to send.
Who operates this site
Nicholas Rossiter, sole trader, ABN 71 526 258 256, Queensland 4213, trades as RoofMatch. Business-name registration is pending. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions.
The operator is not registered for GST. No payment processor is connected and the site does not collect card details.
The sections about referrals describe the intended service if collection is enabled. Whether the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles apply depends on the entity and its activities, including any benefit received for trading personal information; turnover alone does not settle that question.
Information used for an enquiry
If quote collection opens, the form is intended to collect your name, phone or email, postcode, requested service, job details and preferred contact time. Optional fields may cover roof material and the situation at the property.
The service would also record the consent wording and version, named recipients, marketing choice and request time. A name, contact method, supported postcode and service, and referral consent would be needed to arrange an introduction.
Do not submit identity documents, access codes, health information or unnecessary information about someone else. You must have authority to provide information about a property or another person.
The service does not buy lead lists or operate customer accounts. If you contact the operator by email, the details in your message are used to respond to your enquiry.
Why information would be used
Enquiry information would be used to assess the request, check for duplicates and, with your referral consent, introduce you to the providers named on the form.
Marketing would require a separate optional choice. A roofing enquiry would not add you to marketing lists for other RoofMatch services.
Who would receive a referral
A shared enquiry could be sent to no more than two providers, each named before you consent. Information shared would be limited to your name, phone or email, postcode, service, job details and preferred contact time.
RoofMatch may be paid for the referral. Payment is not an endorsement or a claim to compare the whole market.
Named providers could contact you about that request for 14 days after the referral. They must not resell your details or use them for unrelated marketing, and they handle received information under their own privacy practices.
If no approved provider is named, the intended system must not store contact details or share the enquiry. Adding a different provider later requires new consent.
Hosting and overseas handling
The service is designed to use Cloudflare Pages, Workers and D1 for the website, request processing and database. Cloudflare operates globally; the service does not promise that information stays in Australia or that a particular storage country is fixed.
The operator must settle hosting arrangements before enabling collection. Using the website does not waive obligations under Australian Privacy Principle 8 where it applies.
No customer content is to be used to train a general-purpose AI model. Access to stored enquiries is intended to be limited to support, privacy requests and invalid-lead reviews.
Technical information and security
The intended request-processing system uses limited technical information for security, including a hashed IP-derived rate-limit value, request size, origin and error codes. Logging is designed to remove names, email addresses and phone numbers, but filtering cannot be guaranteed.
The planned safeguards include encrypted transmission, parameterised database queries, request-size and rate limits, origin checks and collection disabled by default. No system is completely secure.
The site states that it uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Any future non-essential tracking must be reflected in the privacy information before use.
Retention
The configured schedule for enquiry content is 30 days from receipt. An authorised administrative action is intended to clear names, phone numbers, email addresses and job details after that period. This is not a guarantee that every backup copy disappears on the same day.
Consent and suppression records are retained only as needed to record agreement and honour withdrawals. Payment or tax records created in the future may need to be kept longer.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to ask what information is held, request access or correction, or withdraw consent for future optional sharing or marketing. A proportionate identity check may be needed. Any lawful refusal will be explained.
Withdrawal cannot undo a referral already sent. Making a request is free. Any lawful access charge would be explained in advance; unsubscribing from marketing is free and requires no account.
Complaints and incidents
Email the operator with your concern. The existing policy commits to acknowledging complaints within five business days and aiming to respond within 30 days. If more time is needed, the delay will be explained.
If a complaint remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where it has jurisdiction.
Suspected data breaches are to be assessed and, where required by law, reported to affected people and the regulator.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will carry a new version and effective date. Editing this page does not itself authorise a new purpose, new recipients or marketing without the required consent.
