Roof age and quote checklist: save or print

Checklist

• Installation date from building records, if available
• Previous restoration or repair dates and documents
• Roof material, or unknown
• Symptoms and when first noticed
• Existing safe photos available: yes or no
• Active safety concern? Stop and seek appropriate emergency help
• Contractor’s legal entity and relevant QBCC licence checked
• Assessment and reasons for repair, restoration or replacement provided
• Itemised repairs, preparation and named compatible products
• Access, waste, rainwater and solar arrangements addressed
• Total payable including GST where applicable
• Exclusions, variations, payment terms and timing documented
• Product and workmanship warranties distinguished

Age alone is not a diagnosis or an expiry date. Do not put your home address, phone number, insurance documents or private photographs in public comments.

Check contractors on the QBCC licence register. Emergency contacts are listed by Get Ready Queensland. Immediate danger: 000. Queensland flood and storm emergency assistance: SES 132 500. RoofMatch is not an emergency service. See the storm-damage checklist before a non-emergency quote.

How to use it

Print or save this page and fill the gaps from records you already have. What a written quote should cover explains the same comparison without a dollar figure. Signs worth recording and location notes do not turn an age or a postcode into a remedy.

About RoofMatch

RoofMatch is a roof-quote referral service, not the contractor carrying out roofing work. Quote matching is not open yet; no quote request is collected or sent to a roofer. Use this guide to prepare questions for a suitably licensed contractor. Once matching opens, participating businesses may pay RoofMatch for accepted introductions; RoofMatch will not represent the whole market. Do not treat this article as an inspection, a binding quote or emergency assistance.
